BankAtlantic opened its doors in 1952 in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Since then it has grown to 77 branches and is one of the largest  financial institutions in Florida.  Serving Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Martin, and  St. Lucie counties in Southern Florida, BankAtlantic has extended into the Tampa Bay market.   The Chief Executive Officer of  BankAtlantic is Alan B. BankAtlantic Mortgage Options

BankAtlantic offers many mortgage options.  An equity credit line is one of them.  This is for the home owner who wants the security of having some extra cash available, whether for immediate use or to save for a rainy day.    BankAtlantic also offers many other types of mortgages.  They offer fixed rate(the interest rate stays the same for the life of the loan) mortgages with 10,15, 20, 25, and 30 year terms for loan amounts up to $417,000.  Adjustable rate mortgages are also offered.  In this type of loan the interest rate stays fixed for a certain term and then returns to the market rate.  These are offered in  3, 5, 7, or 10 year terms for loan amounts up to $417,000.  An interest only adjustable rate mortgage with similar terms is also offered.   A first time buyers plan and loans for those with “a few dings” in their credit are also available.  BankAtlantic also funds Jumbo loans in amounts over $417,000.  Refinance options are also available from BankAtlantic, as well as lines of credit.  Secured lines of credit are authorized up to $1million with a variable interest rate linked to the prime rate.  An interest only monthly payment option may be selected for the secured line of credit loan.
