I am facing foreclosure. What resources are available to save my home?
First, contact your lender immediately if you are having troubles making your mortgage payments. Ask to speak to someone who can help work out some type of arrangement. Ask if your loan can be modified, for example, adding an additional year to the term of the loan. Also, ask if you qualify for forbearance – temporary suspension or reduction of payments.
Seek out a counseling service/agency that specializes in aiding homeowners on the verge of foreclosure.
Some examples are:
www.hud.gov, www.acornhousing.org or www.naca.com.
Otherwise, you can fill out our form and we will have a lender contact you shortly.
